This will be a personal one.

 

7 years ago we adopted a dog who turned out to have some special needs we were not expecting. He has been one of my greatest teachers in boundary setting, saying no, and advocating for his comfort and safety (and everyone's safety!) no matter whether it disappoints strangers.
